ACTIVITIES AROUND THE LAKES

-> The 7-hectare “Plaisance” lake with its beach, supervised swimming, diving board and children’s play areas. There are also paying activities: an 80-metre-long waterslide, pedalos and paddles (preferential rates for campsite guests).

-> Etang du Coucou, a 3.5-hectare lake reserved for fishing (you can find the 2023 fishing regulations HERE).

Water activities :

Try your hand at pedalos (€) or paddle boats (€)! Jump off the diving board into the lake! And for the more adventurous, try out the waterslide (€).

For water games, ask for your pass at the campsite reception desk, as there is a preferential rate for campsite guests.

For people with disabilities, a “Tiralo” is available free of charge! The Tiralo is a beach chair designed for people with reduced mobility, which allows you to roll on the ground and float on the water without any transformation.

Fishing :

It is open from 1 April to 30 November on Etang du Coucou and from 1 April to 15 June and then from 15 September to 30 November on Lac Plaisance (you can find the 2023 fishing regulations HERE).

Hiking :

More than 30 km of hiking trails criss-cross the commune of Saint Hilaire Les Places, you can pick up topo fiches on the website of the Pays de Nexon-Monts de Châlus Tourist Office.

GOURMET MARKETS

Gourmets and foodies, grab your forks!

If you’re keen to discover or rediscover regional gastronomy, you can sample local produce at the “Gourmet Markets”.

Local producers will be on hand to introduce you to their Limousin beef, lamb and poultry, as well as foie gras, cheeses and a wide range of jams. You’ll be able to buy fresh produce on the spot. Local associations will be on hand to cook the meat.

Numerous gourmet markets and country markets are held throughout the season in the surrounding villages. Come and discover our products and their producers!

THE EARTH MUSEUM WORKSHOP (5 MINUTES FROM THE CAMPSITE)

A historic and cultural site just a stone’s throw from the campsite!

The Atelier-Musée de la Terre invites you to discover a major centre of traditional tile-making craftsmanship, and to experiment with a material and skills linked to clay.

Millions of years ago, a mysterious, rare and unique rock appeared: serpentine. Its decomposition created the clay of Puycheny. Waterproof and malleable, it has been used for centuries as a material for building, creating and dreaming.

Throughout the year, young and old alike can learn about the history of the Puycheny tileworks on guided tours, and try out clay in all its forms at modelling workshops, demonstrations and courses, as well as taking part in various cultural events. Find out more HERE!

L’Atelier-Musée de la Terre vous invite à découvrir un haut lieu de l’artisanat tuilier traditionnel, à expérimenter une matière et des savoir-faire liés à l’argile.

Il y a des millions d’années apparaît une roche mystérieuse, rare et singulière : la serpentine. Sa décomposition à créée l’argile de Puycheny. Imperméable et malléable, elle est utilisée depuis des siècles comme matière à bâtir, à créer, à rêver.

Tout au long de l’année, petits et grands peuvent découvrir l’histoire des tuileries de Puycheny au travers de visites et expérimenter l’argile sous toute ses formes autour d’ateliers modelage, de démonstrations, de stages, ainsi que participer à divers événements culturels.
